The Astrobiology Initiative intends to share with the public our enthusiasm for the search for life outside of Earth, and our related science discoveries. This communication will include public events, publications, online content, social media, and quality journalism.

To develop science communicators versed in astrobiology, the Astrobiology Initiative has created a Science Communications Fellowship for a a graduate student to a participate in UC Santa Cruz’s Science Communication program. UC Santa Cruz’s Science Communication program is world renowned for training top science journalists. Alumni include reporters and editors for NPR, National Geographic, Ars Technica, and Scientific American.
